Who we are
Founded in 2006, the Dalgety Bay Astronomy Club is a welcoming community of stargazers, amateur astronomers, and space enthusiasts based in Fife, Scotland. What began as a small group of local sky-watchers has grown into a thriving club passionate about exploring the wonders of the night sky.
Our Mission
We aim to inspire curiosity and deepen understanding of the universe by providing a friendly and engaging environment where people of all experience levels can share their interest in astronomy. Whether you're just beginning to explore the night sky or you're a seasoned astronomer with your own telescope, you’ll find a place with us.
What We Do
Monthly Guest Talks – We host regular gatherings featuring guest speakers covering a wide variety of space related topics..
Monthly Astrophotography Meetings - Join us at the Astrophotography Division where we showcase our members deep-space images as well as host workshops and guest speakers.
Pop-Up Excursions - Weather depending, we take trips to dark sky locations to observe and photograph celestial events such as meteor showers, aurora and much more!
Club Trips - Visiting interesting space related sites around Scotland.
Community Outreach – We proudly engage with local schools, libraries, and public events to share the excitement of astronomy with people of all ages.
Who Can Join?
Everyone is welcome! Our club includes beginners, hobbyists, and experienced astronomers alike. You don’t need any prior knowledge or equipment to get involved — just an interest in the universe above. Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult. Find out more by clicking here.
Our Location & How To Find Us
We’re proudly based in Dalgety Bay, situated on the Firth of Forth in Fife, Scotland. Our meetings are held at The Kabin, Moray Way, Dalgety Bay.
The Kabin is located between the Tennis Club & Community Centre.
